Catching up with 2BS in August - Skills Shortages

WRI's monthly catch up interview on Tuesday 6 August on 2BS 95.1FM with Kathy Woolley and Sarah Boorer touched base on skills shortages in Western NSW.

During the interview Kathy mentioned a couple of recent projects that WRI has completed including the Industry Skills and Opportunities Paper for three councils combined, Dubbo, Gilgandra and Narromine.

The Industry Skills and Opportunities Paper was completed to create an action plan for the participating Council's industry, employment and skills development so they can cope with major infrastructure projects taking place. Knowing where skills gaps are likely to exist in key industries helps with economic development and planning into the future.

In September, Executive Officer Dale Curran will be joining Sarah for the next live interview being held on Tuesday 3rd September at 4:20pm (est) discussing WRI'S presentation on Clandestine Drug Laboratories that was presented by CEO, Kathy Woolley for the recent SEGRA conference in Barooga, Victoria. Tune in this afternoon at 4:20pm, to listen live go to https://www.2bs.com.au/about-2bs/ or 2BS 95.1FM.

WRI provides support to organisations and Councils in the region to apply for funding for their projects. If you are seeking assistance with funding call our office on 02 6333 4000 to speak to our team today or email us at team@wri.org.au.
