WRI plans to prodcue a Tourism Model later this year that will improve the quality and level of reporting on the visitor economy or regional areas. We have joined with Central NSW Joint Organisation of Councils (CENTROC), Destination NSW Country and Outback, Orange 360 and other participating councils across regional NSW to provide an updated and informative Tourism Model to assist regional areas to ensure their sustainability and further their growth.
The Tourism Model will target tourists who visit Local Government Areas within the region, offering robust modelling of regional tourism sectors.
This is the first project to be allocated funds through WRI’s Inland Research Fund, the fund has allocated $30,000 towards this project that will be available to councils across Australia. WRI has delivered over 100 projects for local government and our staff have specific skills and experience in understanding regional economics and the tourism sector to enable the delivery of this project.
